The Black Isle is home to one of the oldest and most successful craft breweries in Scotland, Black Isle Beer. The Black Isle craft beer scene has been credited as the driving force of Scottish craft beer. Certainly, Black Isle Beer has received much attention and was a 2016 Scottish Beers finalist.
Black Isle Craft Beer
Started in 1998, Black Isle Beer creates world-class beers while striving for sustainable, organic production methods. The brewery is sited on an organic farm, where malting barley is grown. The brewery even hosts a brewery house cow, who eats the malt from the brewery mash, and rewards the brewery with 20 pints of fresh milk every day. You can tour the brewery yourself before sampling from their wide selection of brews.
Going from strength to strength, Black Isle Beer distributes across the UK and EU. Most recently, Black Isle Beer’s Organic Blonde has secured a listing in Majestic Wine’s 200+ UK stores and online shop. Founder David Gladwin attributes Black Isle Beer’s long-running success to a commitment to organic principles.
Black Isle Beer is one of many top-class purveyors of food and drink on the doorstep of our Black Isle accommodation. A localvore’s paradise, your visit to here will feature a wide range of locally produced food and drink.
