Food and Drink

The Black Isle is a localvore’s paradise. Our pubs and restaurants offer local-sourced ingredients for a one-of-a-kind experience.

No need to use the kitchen during your stay. The local villages have several takeaways, excellent restaurants and coffee sellers. Then you have several specialist food shops – bakery, butcher, cheese, fish and brewery outlets are close by. Once a week you will find a community market on the Black Isle and they specialise in local produce, much of which is unavailable elsewhere. Also, you have farm shops, local convenience stores and a small supermarket. Large supermarkets, more restaurants and cafes can be found in Inverness and other large towns nearby.

But it is the small and independent suppliers that provide the best dining experience.

The IV10 Restaurant  – www.iv10.net -in Fortrose say

“Our plates are ideal for sharing, it’s positively encouraged creating a casual, sociable dining experience  — we have sweet and savoury deli counters, highlighting our in house baking. From wonderful scotch eggs  and pies to decadent brownies and lemon tarts and a considered selection of local and European cheese and charcuterie  — everything is available as takeaway”

Food and Drink

Black Isle Dairy

And one more for you foodies try –  www.bakhoosbakery.co.uk in Fortrose who are “specialising in sourdough bread, viennoiserie, cakes and speciality coffee”

This is just a small selection of the large and varied number of food establishments in the area so every reason to be an epicure during your stay.
